Folk Costume

I made a series of costumes inspired by British Folk culture, these costumes were in celebration of multispecies relationships and aimed to act as an addition to existing folk customs. The costumes were used as part of a performative walk following the river of Paddley Gorge to its source.

The performance walk led to a two-part Cyanotype printing and costume making workshop, where I invited participants to print designs on fabrics and create costumes of their own. This involved using natural materials, chemicals, fabrics, water and the Sun to create unique and experimental prints, then with a series of folding, lacing or weaving techniques craft the fabrics into costumes to be worn and paraded around Supersonic Festival 2023.
