Collaborate Exchange

I collaborated with Artist Katie Fiore to instigate a graduate residency programme at CRATE Studios and Project Space. Together we; co-designed and coordinated the programme, acted as artist mentors and built relationships with local partners and universities.

Through the programme we invited three recent graduates to take part in placements within three local organisations. The aim was for artists to gain an insight into different industries, test the functions of their creative practice with new techniques, settings and audiences and take part in genuine skills exchange. The artists were provided with time, space and support to develop a body of work in response to this exchange.

The three residencies:
- William Hughes in residence at The Monkton Stargazing Society
- James Mccoll in residence at Windmill Community Gardens
- Sara Jackson in residence at Grandad's Workshop

We mentored the artists throughout and held regular meetings with them and partnering organisations.
The residencies resulted in a series of talks and an exhibition at CRATE in December 2019.
